Come and make your own model Volcano, explore different types of chemical reactions and discover the properties of matter.

What is the difference between exothermic and endothermic reaction?

Where does the power of a volcano come from?

How many dinosaurs does it take to change a light globe?

Only some of these questions will be answered as we explore the world of chemistry and find out more about our planet's molten inner core.

Along the way you'll make some dynamic discoveries about sweets and soft drinks.

Learn about the different states of matter and what fire and cold are all about.

Volcano demonstration time is 3:45pm.

Workshop time - 8.30am to 4.00 pm.
Cost - $55.00 per person.
Age - 8 and over.
Morning and afternoon tea provided.

Learning Objectives:

This workshop is designed to promote awareness in simple chemistry and the physical properties of matter and encourage a simplified understanding of the earth's core.

The kids will learn about reactions, density, mass and force in a series of experiments while constructing a model volcano.

The activities follow a thematic course on a common theme and encourage a greater understanding of our physical world.
